ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The government has reduced the development levy on petrol while increasing the levy on diesel, according to sources in the Ministry of Petroleum.
According to sources in the Ministry of Petroleum, the levy on petrol has been reduced by Rs40.49 per litre, bringing the petrol levy down from Rs106.74 per litre to Rs66.25 per litre.
Meanwhile, the petroleum levy on diesel has been increased by Rs19.71 per litre. Following the increase, the levy on diesel has risen from Rs53.26 per litre to Rs72.97 per litre.
Sources said the average levy on petrol and diesel has now fallen below Rs80 per litre, while the combined levy on both petroleum products stands at Rs139.22 per litre. The reduction in levy was made after achieving the target set for the current fiscal year.
